Dr. Dan Cohen is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist licensed to practice medicine in the state of New York. He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed all of his psychiatric training at major medical centers in Manhattan. Following a four year residency program in general adult psychiatry at Beth Israel Medical Center he then completed a two year fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Saint Vincents Catholic Medical Center.
Dr. Cohen followed up his extensive training with work as a full-time Attending Psychiatrist for child and adolescent inpatient services at Hall-Brooke Behavioral Health Services in Westport, Connecticut (an affiliate of Columbia Presbyterian Hospital). As a native New Yorker he took his invaluable experience back to NYC to start up a private practice in addition to his work as a staff psychiatrist at the Karen Horney Psychoanalytic Institute in Manhattan where he provided outpatient psychopharmacological evaluations and treatment for children, adolescents and adults as well as teaching for the interns, externs, and students.
While most of his time is devoted to his busy private practice, he continues to provide consultative and educational services to schools, universities, and various print/ digital media venues throughout the city. He also serves as a council member of the Gerson Lehrman Group where he delivers expertise and decision making assistance to business, government and investment leaders from around the world.
